So how many of you Spacebattlers play UFO Afterlight?Well regardless of the answer i've started a mod for the game, i'm still working out model importing etc but have begun the modelling process in earnest. (Poor bastard never knew what hit him.)The 'Future Weapons' modification for UFO Afterlight.Goal/Aim: To include infantry weapons from major science fictions, balanced and fun without turning it into a curbstomp against the aliens. (This means that some weapons will not be entirely true to fluff.)Current Status: Several models done, well actually thats it.Current Plans: Current 40k Weapons are going to receive the attention.Information/Requests/Questions:1: If anyone else wants to join me in modding the game I will welcome them on the proviso that I handle the 'finalising' of implementation and balancing so as to avoid prejudice getting in the way of the pleasure. (Example, a Lasgun and a Federation Phaser will be around equal terms with the Lasgun having the edge due to being able to fire on automatic.)2: Requests: I will take requests into consideration with a couple provisos A: I need at least 1 decent reference picture. Drug lord game download. B: I need information about the weapon in 'decent' detail as to what it can do. Even if you think I know it anyway give the information so I can compile it into a database for reference or even the UFOpedia entries.3: Questions: Shoot. I'm playing it now, as it happens.
I think it's a nice game (and a big improvement over the last, in that the missions seem more fun). It's still an annoying shame that capturing aliens is not something you're expected to do with your own initiative but is something they give you missions for a huge chunk of the time.I'd love to see a remake of the original UFO (X-Com) game using some of the ideas from it, using a main central base to look after (and all the other areas around the world be little outposts) and having a command staff (though preferably one you can actively shuffle yourself). I'd like troop ranks to be returned to the game though, I loved those.and I realise I didn't answer your question, I just wanted to say that without making a thread. But it's bumped it at least.
