It is my guilty pleasure game series as I believe it's probably aimed at girls much younger than myself (I'm 24) but I love these games. I just got the third instalment of the new games for Christmas (I'm aware there is an original style boutique that was strictly for DS but I have only ever played the 3DS ones).I was wondering ifa) anyone has played it and what do you think of it? (particularly in comparison to the previous instalments)b) do you know of any available unlock guide for the game? I'm currently at stylist level 10 and wondering when you unlock hair styling/makeup?tia Reddit!. I've been a fan of the series since 2009. Although the series might be targeted towards younger players and look like shovelware in general, I think the series is great because it's pretty much the only series on 3DS that does the business/fashion sim element that well while managing to be entertaining and hook in players of all ages.I think out of all of the installments, the best two were the first two (Style Savvy and Style Savvy: Trendsetters in NA).
Legend of grimrock download. For some odd reason, no matter how much I play the second game, I never get tired of it. I also enjoyed the first one a lot because I personally thought there was a greater variety of items to get and collect in terms of brand variance, so being occupied with collecting the stock I wanted was pretty entertaining, as well as the interactions with customers and going places with them. The first game had a lot of charm. In terms of graphics and beginning customization, it obviously doesn't look as great as the newest entries, but I still recommend it. I put countless hours into it.As far as the third installment (Fashion Forward) the whole theme of that game was more fantasy-like and pretty much resembled living in a dollhouse world, which was nice and all, but I was disappointed that the game wasn't developed in such a way where it branched out more maturely. The two previous entries were more realistic, and I expected a step up for Fashion Forward's release (sort of a more professional theme like FabStyle, which was never released in English, to my great dismay), but it fell short.
It's still fun, though, and it's quirky and enjoyable.I can't speak for the latest entry (Styling Star) because I've only played a bit of the demo. I noticed immediately that a lot of the items look the same from Fashion Forward, so I hope most of the stock is not a copy and paste job with some color changes. Nevertheless, I look forward to playing the full game (hoping it has more gameplay mechanics, too), and it looks great.
I want to pick it up sooner or later. Hopefully there's a sale sometime soon, since it's digital-only in NA.
This series needs all the love. The series is actually very popular, at least in Europe. Despite the disgusting shovelware cover art they've put to appeal to a new audience in the west.it's probably aimed at girls much younger than myselfYou'd be surprised. But like I said, you can't really market the game towards a larger audience than young girls which is a shame since the game is much richer than it seems.(I'm aware there is an original style boutique that was strictly for DS but I have only ever played the 3DS ones)The original never got a western release, hence why we have Style Boutique 3 and not 4 (Girls Mode 4). I play since one month and I'm level 41.
I enjoy the game, my only complain is that it's not in 3D and the new clothes aren't that great. Some are quite hideous to say the least. The fact that there is a plot now with a real story is quite appreciable.
The three singers you are in charge off, styling wise, are very cool and have each their own identities and characters. The game is not in real time and that a good thing since you can't always play during day. You can now redecorate your shop and room, it's cool but quite priced. All in all it's a good game to spend some time in. I just played it for the first time, and I really wasn't expecting it to be as good as it is. At first I thought it was going to be merely a very simple dollmaker, but it's actually pretty addicting, and I love hunting for pieces of clothing in the clothing stores.
The character customization really allows you to make a unique character.I think the only thing missing is male protagonist option to dress up and maybe optionally romance, but it's understandable they're aiming it primarily at younger girls.I was happy to be able to pull off tomboyish looks as a female character at least.I do wish they could have more body builds though, or made characters a bit less skinny, but it's not something that bothers me that much.I enjoy it very much despite being 28, but I enjoy many dress up games in general, and fashion in general. Especially love that they have Japanese fashion like EGL fashion which I didn't expect because I thought it'd be just normal American fashion or gaudy Barbie fashion judging by their older games' cover art. I also do 3D modeling (primarily I make anime-style character models) which probably creates a huge bias for me to be really into it even just for the graphics. I really love the expressiveness of the characters. How they are anime-style and very cute, yet avoids being sexual-fanservice at the same time, it is like Shoujo genre which I used to really love when I was younger. After having to hiatus/quit from Love Nikki (mobile fashion game reliant on RL money for outfits), due to gambling addiction problems, Style Savvy makes me ask. 'Where have you been all my life?' I hope they continue making more of these games, because I need them in my life, I am so sick of the mobile/MMO fashion gachapon games that I would spend $100-$150 per month in from giving in to gambling addiction.
I'm happy to pay a full game price for zero paid-DLC gachapon lotteries, and no mental strain from addiction.
Here is where you can buy new make-up items and make-up sets. There is a variety of items available which include: Make-Up Sets, Eyebrows, Eyeshadow, Eyeliner, Mascara, Coloured Contacts, Blusher and Lipstick. A preview is shown of the colour of each item on the top screen when selected and you can add multiple items to your cart to purchase.
Once you have purchased a make-up item, it will be available at your Apartment. The colour palette system is different to the one in Fashion Forward and has a swatch style look to it.
The colour palettes are shown on the left hand side of the bottom 3DS screen and are organised in a way similar to make-up palettes in real life rather than the colour system in Fashion Forward. For more information on make-up sets in Styling Star, please visit the. This is an exciting new feature to the Beautician which allow players to paint their nails in a variety of designs matching the fashion images in the game. Talk to Lorelei to purchase a new set of nails and the categories for each nail design will appear along the top of the bottom 3DS screen.
Once you find a nail design that you like, select OK and a short animation will play of Lorelei doing your nails. Your character will then show off the completed look.
Any nails sets you buy from the Beautician are available in the Nails option at your apartment. You can only purchase one design at a time, so you will need to talk to Lorelei again to purchase another design.

Select a customer via the bottom 3DS screen and they will briefly tell you what kind of look they are after and whether they want make-up or nails. This guide will look at make-up requests and please refer to the for how to complete nail requests. The customer will proceed to show off their new look! Most of the time, the customer will be pleased with the outcome.
Styling Star got rid off the ridiculous request system that Fashion Forward had at the Beautician where customers would request wanting to look just like certain NPC's or particular styles like natural or bold. I'm yet to encounter a customer who hated and rejected their make-over, the game seems to just accept anything as long as you pick different colours to what they already have for the customer.
